The road to team (and staff) productivity is easier than it sounds.  An effective and productive team does “the right things”.  An efficient team does things right. Every business owner’s goal should be to develop an effective and productive team, not “only” an efficient team.

Most team players know their technical roles and believe if they do their jobs well (and everyone else cooperates with them), the team will work well.  This approach does not serve the team or the business very well.  The reason is that we all bring our own biases, opinions, communication style and personality to the team.  It’s not purely job of the team adapt to us, but also our job to adapt to the team and the organization.

Strategic Team/Staff covers the following:

  • Vision & Mission
    • Why are you working here? Where will you and the organization be in 6 months, one year, and the future?
  • Goals
    • Personal and Professional need to be considered.
  • Communication
    • Communication starts with understanding other’s communication styles.
    • DiSC behavioral profile – Team building exercise
    • “What I know for sure assessment”
  • Accountability
    • Do you hold yourself accountable?
    • Do you need direction or are you a self starter?

How The Workshop Unfolds:

 

  • Each team member completes (in advance)
    • An online DiSC assessment
    • “What I know for sure” assessment
  • Workshop – 4 hours
  • Each member leaves with an understanding of:
    • The vision/mission for the organization.
    • How to develop short and long term goals.
    • How to recognize and leverage his/her Strengths & Weaknesses
    • How develop him/herself while also helping the organization grow, prosper, develop
    • How to hold themselves accountable (as professionals).

This is a one time workshop that can be repeated as often as desired.
